Motorcyclist seriously injured after being hit by vehicle in southeastern Franklin County

According to the sheriff’s office, the driver of the Nissan was operating a vehicle on a suspended license.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A motorcyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in southeastern Franklin County on Friday, the sheriff's office said.

The crash happened on Winchester Pike and Farthing Lane in Madison Township around noon.

The driver of a Nissan Rogue was heading southbound on Farthing Lane attempting to turn left onto Winchester Pike, when they struck a Harley Davidson motorcycle that was heading westbound at the intersection.

Both the driver and passenger of the Nissan were uninjured.

According to the sheriff’s office, the driver of the Nissan was operating a vehicle on a suspended license. The passenger in the Nissan also had felony escape warrants and was taken into custody.

The driver was released with pending charges, the sheriff’s office said.

The motorcyclist was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the crash.
