COLUMBUS, Ohio — A motorcyclist is dead and his passenger is injured following a crash in southern Delaware County Saturday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened just after 10:20 p.m. on Filiz Lane, just east of Gediz Drive in Liberty Township.
Seth M. Christie, 50, was operating a Yamaha YZF-R1 motorcycle northbound on Filiz Lane when he drove off the right side of the road and hit a culvert. He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
A passenger was taken to Riverside Hospital, where troopers described his condition as "stable."
Alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in the crash, according to OSHP.
The incident remains under investigation.
