Motorcyclist seriously injured in Franklin County crash

The motorcyclist struck the back of the boat and was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A motorcyclist is seriously injured after crashing into the back of a truck hauling a boat Wednesday afternoon, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened on Winchester Pike and Courtright Road in Madison Township around 1:30 p.m.

The sheriff’s office says a 2001 Suzuki GSXR600 was heading east on Winchester Pike at a high rate of speed when it hit a Ford F-150, which was pulling a boat, as it was turning onto Courtright Road.

The motorcyclist struck the back of the boat and was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. The occupants of the Ford were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
