Missing teen from Franklin County believed to be in Cleveland; authorities concerned for her safety

According to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost's office, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office issued an endangered missing child advisory for 16-year-old Janiah Smith.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — Authorities are searching for a missing Franklin County girl who is believed to be in Cleveland.

According to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost's office, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office issued an endangered missing child advisory for 16-year-old Janiah Smith. Deputies are concerned for her safety.

Authorities say she was last seen on Oct. 5 around 9 p.m. on Karl Road in Columbus. She is described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, 110 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple jacket, black pants and flip-flops.

Authorities believe she is in the area of East 118th Street in Cleveland.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 614-525-3350 or 911.
