TOLEDO, Ohio — The winning $1.13 billion Mega Millions ticket may not have been sold in Ohio, but someone did win $1 million in the Buckeye State.
The ticket was purchased at a Clark Oil gas station in Toledo, but an exact address was not provided.
Thirteen tickets matched the five white balls to win the game’s second-tier prize. A ticket sold in New York is worth $2 million because it includes the optional Megaplier.
Someone in New Jersey overcame the odds and won the $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot, breaking a winless streak that dated back to last December.
The numbers drawn Tuesday night were: 7, 11, 22, 29, 38 and the gold Mega Ball 4. Until the latest drawing, no one had matched all six numbers and to win the Mega Millions jackpot since Dec. 8. The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1 in 302.6 million.
This prize is the 8th largest in U.S. lottery history.
The $1.13 billion jackpot is for a winner who is paid through an annuity. Most winners choose a cash payout, which would be $537.5 million.
You should still check your tickets because the Ohio Lottery lists the following winners throughout the state from Tuesday night's drawing:
- $1 million prize: 1 winner
- $20,000 prize: 3 winners
- $10,000 prize: 4 winners
- $500 prize: 87 winners
- $400 prize: 86 winners
- $20 prize: 3,259 winners
- $10 prize: 7,929 winners
- $8 prize: 9,847 winners
- $4 prize: 48,369 winners
