Woman dead, another seriously injured after Marion County motorcycle crash

The driver hit the deer, causing the motorcycle to land on its side, OSHP says.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A woman is dead and another person is seriously injured after a motorcycle crash involving a deer in Marion County early Saturday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on state Route 37 around 12:15 a.m. The driver of a Harley Davidson FLHTKL Ultra Limited Low was traveling northbound on the road when a deer entered the road, a preliminary investigation indicated.

Danielle McCormack, 38, was a passenger on the motorcycle.

The driver hit the deer, causing the motorcycle to land on its side, OSHP says.

The motorcyclist was taken to Marion General Hospital with serious injuries and a McCormack was taken with life-threatening injuries.

Both were later flown to Grant Medical Center where McCormack later died.
