A man convicted of killing an 81-year-old woman who was strangled and whose body was found in a wishing well has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.

Charles Greene was convicted in January of murder, aggravated robbery and kidnapping of Alyce Seff.

Seff owned more than a dozen properties around Columbus and Greene had worked for her from time to time as a handyman.

Seff’s body was found July 9, 2008 upside down in a wishing well on S. High Street. Police said the body was there for at least a few days before anyone found it.

After her death, Seff’s cell phone and credit cards ended up in Greene’s possession and her vehicle was found near his residence with his DNA on the steering wheel.

The judge sentenced Greene to life in prison with no chance of parole for 15 years for murder. She added 10 years each for the aggravated robbery and kidnapping, which will run concurrent with the murder sentence.
