MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - Mount Vernon police said a man reported missing from the Kokosing Gap Trail area has been found dead.
Mount Vernon police said they responded to the trail on May 24 around noon for a report of a possible suspicious vehicle.
When officers arrived they found a car belonging to 40-year-old Jason Taylor, of Mount Gilead, abandoned.
A man was found dead in the river on May 31 and on June 3 he was positively identified as Taylor.
Police said foul play is not suspected in Taylor's disappearance.
A cause of death has not been released pending an autopsy.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol air patrol, a K9 from Danville police, and deputies from the Knox County Sheriff's Office assisted in the search.
