WESTFIELD TWP., OH - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a man and injured a woman.
It happened Sunday just before 2:30 a.m. on State Route 746 north of County Road 156 in Westfield Township.
Aaron Howlett, 34, of Caledonia, Ohio was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson Sportster on SR 746 when he went off the side of the road and hit a mailbox.
According to OSHP, Howlett was pronounced at the scene. His passenger, 33-year-old Tara Carney, was flown by Med-Flight to Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities believe alcohol and drugs are suspected factors in the crash. Howlett and Carney were both not wearing helmets.
The crash remains under investigation.
