78-year-old man dead following crash in Ross County

One lane of U.S. Route 35 was closed for approximately three hours after the crash.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Ross County Sunday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Deputies were called on a report of a crash shortly after 2:20 p.m. on U.S. Route 35.

OSHP said a Pontiac Solstice was traveling westbound on U.S. Route 35 when it drove off the left side of the road, then drove off the right side of the road and struck an embankment.

The driver, 78-year-old James Miller, of Frankfort, was pronounced dead at the scene.

One lane of U.S. Route 35 was closed for approximately three hours after the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
