COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 61-year-old man was killed in a crash involving a semitrailer Monday morning in Delaware County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on U.S. Route 36 at the intersection of Township Road 33 in Berkshire Township around 10:40 a.m.

OSHP says William Stewart, of Mount Vernon, was driving a Ford F-150 southbound on Township Road 33 when he failed to stop at the stop sign. The Ford then collided with the trailer of a semi that was heading westbound on Route 36.

Stewart was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he later died.

The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash, according to OSHP.

The crash remains under investigation.
