JACKSON - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle rollover crash that resulted in two occupants being ejected and the death of one person.
It happened around 2:40 Friday morning on US 35 near Bronx Corner Road in Jackson Township.
The driver of the 2005 Ford F-150 swerved to avoid striking another vehicle from behind and drove into the median. William Copeland, 55, and Craig Burgess, 54, both from Mayfield, Kentucky were ejected from the car.
Healthcare workers at the Holzer Medical Center of Jackson pronounced dead.
A helicopter transported Burgess to Grant Hospital, after he suffered life threatening injuries.
Both US 35 eastbound and westbound were closed for a short time following the crash.
Police say that alcohol was likely a factor in the crash, but it remains under investigation.
