Sheriff: Man dies after kayak tips over in Fairfield County lake

The man was identified as 42-year-old Jeremy Klobusnik of Lancaster.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio — A 42-year-old man died after he was pulled from a lake where his kayak tipped over in Fairfield County Sunday evening, authorities said.

Fairfield County Sheriff Alex Lape said deputies were called to Greenfield Lake in Carroll just after 6:05 p.m. for a possible drowning.

Investigators learned that the man, Jeremy Klobusnik of Lancaster, was fishing on the lake when his kayak turned over and he fell into the water.

The Fairfield County Sheriff's Office dive team located Klobusnik and pulled him from the water.

He was taken to Fairfield Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Lape said foul play is not suspected in Klobusnik's death, but the incident remains under investigation.

The Greenfield Township Fire Department assisted with the response.
