COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man is dead after he lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole in west Columbus Friday evening, police said.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, a man was driving west on Sullivant Avenue approaching Ryan Avenue around 7:20 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle, traveling into the eastbound lane. He swerved back into the westbound lane and struck a utility pole on the side of the road.
The man was transported to Grant Medical Center and pronounced dead at 8:38 p.m.
The Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and initiated an investigation which is ongoing.
