Man dead after stabbing near Ohio State campus; suspect charged with murder

Police said it is believed that the victim and suspect, 22-year-old David W. McDaniel, were engaged in an argument, which led to the stabbing.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 30-year-old man is dead after a stabbing near Ohio State's campus.

Columbus police say officers were dispatched to the Wexner Medical Center on a walk-in stabbing victim around 8:44 p.m. Thursday.

Officers were able to locate a scene in the 220 block of West 9th Avenue.

Police said it is believed that the victim and suspect, 22-year-old David W. McDaniel, were engaged in an argument, which led to the stabbing.

The victim was pronounced dead at 2:04 a.m. Friday. The victim has not yet been identified.

McDaniel was arrested and charged with murder.
