COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 60-year-old man who was struck by two vehicles on the city's southeast side more than two weeks ago has died, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
The pedestrian, identified by police as Bryan Fitzgerald, was walking in the eastbound lanes of Refugee Road, near Old Courtright Road, around 8:15 p.m. when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.
Police say he was outside a marked crosswalk.
The first car that hit him did not stop.
As Fitzgerald was lying in the road, another vehicle ran over his legs. The driver of the second vehicle pulled over and stayed at the scene, according to police.
Fitzgerald was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition where he died on Dec. 9, according to police.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
