Man caught after escaping custody in Morrow County

MORROW COUNTY, Ohio - A man was caught on Thursday after he escaped custody according to the Morrow County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office said Mason Schnars escaped from custody at Morrow County Municipal Court.

Schnars then stole two vehicles while he eluded law enforcement.

The first vehicle was found on Township Road 187.

The sheriff's office said Schnars then stole a pickup truck from a property on the same road.

The Morrow County Sheriff's Office thanked the public for tips which led to his capture.

He was scheduled to be in court on Thursday on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, and breaking and entering.

The Delaware County Sheriff's Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Mt. Vernon Police Department, Mt. Gilead Police and the Cardington Police assisted in the search for Schnars.
