LICKING COUNTY, Ohio — A man is accused of leaving explosive liquid in a package at the Licking County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, according to Sheriff Randy Thorp.

Thorp said the package was left in the office lobby around 11:30 a.m.

The Columbus bomb squad responded to take the package and safely destroy it.

Thorp said around 2 p.m., a suspect, 50-year-old Ted Jenkins, was located near West Main Street and 21st Street in Newark.

When deputies approached, Thorp said Jenkins was combative.

Deputies used a taser and took Jenkins into custody.  He is charged with inducing panic and Thorp said additional charges are anticipated.

Thorp said a sample of the liquid has been taken to be tested.
