IRONTON, Ohio -- A pretrial hearing for a man indicted in the deaths of four people in southern Ohio was held Friday afternoon.
During the court session, the judge said a capital indictment has been filed with the Ohio Supreme Court, making this a death penalty case.
Arron Lawson, 23, was indicted on charges of aggravated murder, rape, kidnapping, corpse abuse, aggravated burglary, vehicle theft, tampering with evidence and failing to comply with a police officer’s order. He pled guilty to all charges and is being held without bond in Lawrence County.
Investigators say Lawson killed four people: his aunt, uncle, and two cousins, all while a 2-year-old boy was in the home.
The victims were identified as 8-year-old Devin Holston, 25-year-old Staci M. Jackson, 43-year-old Tammi L. McGuire and 50-year-old Donald McGuire.
A trial date for Lawson has been set for August 6, 2018.
