With many local companies closing doors and laying off employees, you might find yourself dusting off your resume. Over 80 companies took part in a career fair at OSU on Monday hoping to fill over 5,000 positions.
Jewish Family Services and Easton Town Center also hosted a job fair at the Columbus Airport Marriott.
The Columbus Metropolitan Library also helps with resume building in its Learning Lab, so getting that next job may only be a click away.
“There's quite a few people who come in to do their job search, their resume, stuff like that,” said Dr. Hector Semuoke who uses the Learning Lab for medical research, but sees how it is making a difference for job seekers.
“There's sections of resume that employers, people like me, look at. So when it's properly prepared, it gives us the opportunity to call them in for an interview,” said Semuoke.
Many success stories continue to come out of the CML Learning Lab.
“We had one gentleman who got a customer service job out in Gahanna. Full-time with benefits, so he was very excited and thrilled to share that with us,” said Jennifer Baumann, Manager of CML Adult ServicesGahanna.
