LOGAN COUNTY, Ohio — Twenty-one staff members at the Logan County Sheriff’s Office are being laid off, the agency announced on Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office says the layoffs include road deputies and corrections staff and are effective starting on May 2.
The layoffs are expected to continue to at least mid-July, according to Sheriff Randall Dodds.
Sheriff Dodds says the county is projected to lose up to $700,000 in sales tax revenue and anticipates a larger loss later in the year.
The sheriff says he has the intention on hiring everyone back when the pandemic subsides.
