WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Three schools were on lockdown in the Westerville City School District because of a police incident.
The district said McVay Elementary, Mark Twain Elementary, and Walnut Springs Middle School were on lockdown.
The lockdown was lifted just after 1:30 p.m.
Westerville police told 10TV a student at McVay Elementary reported seeing a person near the school and the student thought a gunshot was heard.
The student told a teacher immediately.
Officers responded to the area and the Columbus Division of Police helicopter was used for the search.
Police said no evidence of any shots fired was found. Officers also did not find the reported suspicious person.
There is no change to dismissal times at the schools that were on lockdown.
