From German Village to Dublin, restaurants are shutting down for a deep clean after their workers tested positive for COVID-19.

Places like the Pint House and The Pearl in the Short North, Katarina’s Café in Clintonville and Cap City Diner in Dublin.

Eighty percent of Franklin County COVID-19 cases in the past three weeks are coming from outside nursing homes and prisons. 

Community spread now places Franklin County at a level 3 emergency. There are six other counties across the state in same situation.

At an outdoor testing facility along East Long Street, Nurses from Equitas Health are asking drivers to roll down their windows and place a swab up their nose. After 15 seconds of swabbing the nurses take a sample and place it in a plastic bag where it’s sent off for testing results.

They say their testing about 10-12 people a day at this site, which is up from 3 to 4 people a week ago.

“There are many people who are dying and are experienced some very life-altering side effects and symptoms please show some passion and humility for the people who are suffering from this, this goes beyond ourselves it is a community issue,” says Nurse Christopher Hetzer if Equitas Health.

Six percent of all Ohioans who've been tested, tested positive for the virus, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
