COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged in connection to a west Columbus shooting that left another teen dead earlier this month.
On Oct. 4, officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the 300 block of Lechner Avenue, located in the Hilltop neighborhood, on a report of a shooting just before 3:40 p.m.
Arriving officers found 17-year-old Carnal Mixon suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Mixon was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead at 4:04 p.m.
The 15-year-old is charged with murder in Mixon's death.
Police said 34-year-old Robert Clark II witnessed the shooting, then fled with and concealed the weapon for the teen. He is charged with obstructing justice.
The teen is currently being held in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center and Clark is being held in the Franklin County jail.
