Kroger confirmed the offer made in a viral Facebook post about a shopping spree giveaway is a scam, and the page is not affiliated with the company.

The post had more than 25,000 comments and more than 7,500 interactions since the page titled “Kroger.com" shared it on Sunday. It claimed anyone who commented or shared would get the opportunity for a 1-hour shopping spree.

Kroger said the post was a scam and recommended people not engage with it or provide any personal information.

In a statement, Kroger said, “This is an unauthorized post that is not affiliated with or supported by the Kroger Co. The page advertising this scam isn't our page with the blue verified check mark. We recommend not engaging with this posting or providing personal information. We've shared this with our team, so they are aware of this page. To report the fraudulent post or page directly to Facebook, please follow the steps here."
