Kristyn Hartman is heading to Cincinnati.
Her final newscast on 10TV will be at 11 p.m. Wednesday. Below is a message from her to everyone in central Ohio.
A note from Kristyn:
All chapters have to end sometime.
This one was just shy of five years -- and despite some real challenges, it was a true gift.
Thanks to the talented friends around me -- Jerry, Chris, Dom and some of the best anchors, reporters and producers I've had the pleasure of working with -- I grew professionally.
I got to do some awesome stories -- like the Buckeyes at the National Championship and the Pope's visit in Philly.
And who gets to joke around and sing with Stephen Colbert? This job afforded me that opportunity as well. And it gave me the chance to meet inspirational people like Mary Green -- who went back to school after turning 70 to get her GED. Folks like Mary inspire me to keep moving forward...keep looking for NEXT.
Part of the success in any experience is what you learn. And boy did I learn. But it wasn't all work. I learned a lot about myself and people here. Central Ohio is made of good stuff.
I never expected the outpouring of love that came from *you* after my cancer diagnosis. Your kindness gave me strength to make some tough decisions and genuinely lifted my spirit...and for that, I will be forever grateful.
The other mark of success in any run -- is the quality of the company you find and get to keep. In addition to all my work buddies, I have made some of the best friends of my life here. You know who you are!
I had to come to Columbus to find you...and I had to live in Columbus to understand this: You have to open your heart and your mind to new things and people. If you don't, you might miss something terrific right in front of you.
On that note, thank you for welcoming me into your living rooms and making it possible for me to be a teacher to one big classroom. It's why I love what I do.
And now I'll be doing just that with the fine people in Cincinnati. When you travel down the road, I hope to see you there!
