Two vehicles were involved in the crash, according to the Columbus Division of Fire.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five people were hospitalized after a crash on Interstate 70 in west Columbus Sunday morning, authorities say.

The crash happened just after 8 a.m. and had the westbound lanes on I-70 near North Hague Avenue reduced to one lane for several hours.

Columbus police said a Cadillac slowed to a stop, or near stop, in the right lane. A Honda sedan, with a man and two juveniles on board, hit the back of the Cadillac.

The Columbus Division of Fire said five people were injured. Two were taken to Grant Medical Center in what medics describe as stable condition, another was taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in critical condition.

Two juveniles were taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital. Their conditions were described as stable and serious. Their ages are unknown at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
