Police: 2 seriously hurt after vehicle flipped on I-70 in east Columbus

One person went to Grant Medical Center and the other went to Mount Carmel East in serious condition.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two people are seriously injured after the vehicle they were in flipped and went into a ditch on Interstate 70 Thursday afternoon, according to the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called to the westbound lanes of I-70, near Hamilton Road on the city's east side, around 12:15 p.m. for the single-vehicle crash involving a sedan.

One person went to Grant Medical Center and the other went to Mount Carmel East in serious condition.

The ramp from I-70 to South Hamilton Road has reopened after being closed.
