JEFFERSONVILLE, Ohio — Multiple people are injured after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 71 in Fayette County Wednesday evening, according to the county sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office said at least three cars and a semitrailer were involved in a crash on I-71 South, just south of Jeffersonville.
Multiple injuries have been reported and helicopters have begun transporting those with serious injuries to area hospitals. It's unknown exactly how many people were injured.
All lanes of I-71 South between state Route 35 and state Route 41 interchange were closed for over an hour after the crash.
It's unclear what led up to the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be taking over the investigation into the crash.
