COLUMBUS, Ohio — A suspicious object found on Interstate 71 in north Columbus prompted lane closures in both directions for more than an hour.
Dispatchers told 10TV that around 8:35 a.m., a 911 caller reported seeing a suspicious power inverter near the southbound exit. The Columbus Division of Police and the Columbus Division of Fire’s Bomb Squad investigated the object.
All but one lane on I-71 was closed in both directions for an hour and a half.
Columbus Fire Battalion Chief Jeffrey Geitter said after examining the object, it was nothing of significance. Authorities did not specify what the object was.
