Hundreds attend Cindy Krantz memorial service in Pataskala

Cindy Krantz is the first of three Kirkersville shooting victims to be laid to rest.

Cindy Krantz's family said they are focusing on the life she had, and Cindy would want them to be happy.

There were hugs and tears at a memorial service for Krantz. She is the first of three Kirkersville shooting victims to be laid to rest.

Hundreds of people went to the Vineyard Christian Church in Pataskala to show their support for the beloved mother of five.

"What happened in Kirkersville on Friday was horrible," Assistant Pastor Ben Yee said.

Because of what happened that day, people gathered inside Cindy Krantz's favorite church Wednesday night.

"It's unbelievable, sad. It's not fair," Cal Berkey said.

"Her youngest is my daughter's best friend," Amanda Lochard said.

A mom of five who loved to love, is the woman family and friends described.

"Cindy made me feel many many feelings, but love was the strongest," Cindy's husband Chris Krantz said.

At a memorial service to celebrate her life, friends, family and Pine Kirk Care Center coworkers shared their memories of Cindy.

"I love my mom. There's just no words for what happened. She died protecting people. She always cared for people," Cindy's son Matthew Burnett said.

"She brightened my day up. It didn't matter how bad of a day we were having," a coworker said.

It's the words from the community the Krantz family says is getting them through a dark time.

"The fact that we don't feel alone, we've had a lot of people come to us and tell us that we can talk to them if we ever need anything," Cindy's daughter Allison Burnett said.

The support inside Vineyard Christian Church was meant to give hope.

"You will remain in our prayers. We will help you any way that we can," Pastor Brian Burd said.

The Krantz family said seeing the love and support inside Cindy's church is what they need.

"It really helps that we don't feel like we're struggling or alone or anything," Allison Burnett said.

Cindy's daughter Allison is five months pregnant. She tells 10TV her son's middle name, William, will honor Cindy's side of the family.
