Police: 2 residents pistol-whipped, suspect stabbed in southeast Columbus home invasion

Two of the residents were reportedly pistol-whipped. One of them was taken to the hospital in what police describe as stable condition.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two residents in southeast Columbus were injured during a reported home invasion early Tuesday, according to a sergeant with the Columbus Division of Police.

Officers were called to the 3000 block of Gurtis Drive around 1:50 a.m. for a report of a home invasion. When they arrived, they spoke with victims who told them three masked suspects armed with guns had broken into their home.

Police said the suspects reportedly entered the home through the back sliding doors and demanded their property. Six people were in the home at the time, including at least two juveniles.

Two of the residents were reportedly pistol-whipped. One of them was taken to the hospital in what police describe as stable condition.

The suspects left before officers arrived on the scene with “undetermined items,” according to police.

Police said one suspect was reportedly stabbed, but the extent of the injury is unknown.
