HOCKING COUNTY, Ohio-- The Hocking County Sheriff's Office is asking for help finding a missing K9 officer.

According to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office, between 5:30 and 6 p.m. on Sunday, Hocking County K9 Ilka was playing with her handler at their home on Jackson Road in Pickaway County. That area is just outside of Laurelville.

Officials say Ilka took off after a deer and hasn't been seen since. She was wearing a chain choke collar when she fled.

Ilka started her time on the force at the Ross County Sheriff's Office as a bomb-sniffing dog.

If you have any information on Ilka's whereabouts you can contact the Hocking County Sheriff's Office at 740-385-2131.
