COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 20-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting in the Hilltop neighborhood Tuesday morning.
The shooting reportedly happened around 2:15 a.m. in the 400 block of South Richardson Avenue, just north of Sullivant Avenue. Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were alerted to the shooting via a ShotSpotter alert.
Police say while heading to the scene, officers were informed of a vehicle leaving the area after loading someone into the vehicle.
Officers found the vehicle and discovered the 20-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police on scene told 10TV there appeared to be an exchange of gunfire happening between the alley and the back of a house.
No suspects have been identified at this time. Information on what led to the shooting was not immediately available.
