1 seriously injured in Hilltop house fire; cause under investigation

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person is seriously injured after a fire broke out at a house on the city's west side Sunday afternoon, according to Columbus Division of Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Geitter.

Firefighters were called to the 300 block of South Warren Avenue in the Hilltop neighborhood just after 1 p.m. on a report of a fire.

Geitter said one person was rescued from the house and taken to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center due to burns. The victim is in serious condition but is expected to be okay.

The fire was later contained.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
