COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 15-year-old boy is dead and two other teenagers were injured in a crash in Highland County Saturday morning.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle crash happened on state Route 73 near Berrysville Road in Washington Township around 7:20 a.m.
A 17-year-old was driving a Ford Focus with another 17-year-old and 15-year-old Addison Howard in the backseat when the driver reportedly failed to make a turn. The car traveled off the road and hit a mailbox and a tree, OSHP says.
The driver and Howard were seriously injured in the crash and were flown to Miami Valley Hospital. According to OSHP, Howard died of his injuries two days after the crash.
The 17-year-old passenger was taken to Highland District Hospital and treated for injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
