A handgun was recovered at Groveport Madison High School Monday morning after officials received an anonymous tip.
District spokesperson Jeff Warner said they received a tip about a weapon on the school property just after 10 a.m.
A school resource officer was able to locate the student and secure the gun.
Warner said there were no threats made at school or toward the school, students or staff.
No lockdown was enacted as the situation was contained quickly.
Warner said the student will be disciplined.
