Gahanna Police are investigating the city’s first homicide in years, and so far no arrests have been made.
Sunday morning Lynda Perry's coworker called police to say she hadn't shown up for work, and that wasn't like her. Police also got a call from Perry's sister, concerned.
“I saw the cops Sunday afternoon when I came home from church. They said there was a crime, and that's all they could tell me,” said neighbor Al woods.
The preliminary report released say a man drove up to house and explained his girlfriend lived inside. He was able to let police in, where they found Perry's body. Investigators say she had been stabbed to death. Officers were still at the home Wednesday, three days after they found her body. Police say this is their first homicide since 2013.
Perry worked at the pharmacy at the Kroger in Gahanna. A spokesperson sent a statement saying, "We are saddened to hear of the death of one of our valued associates. Our thoughts are with her friends and family during this difficult time."
This homicide remains under investigation.
