COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 34-year-old Gahanna man was sentenced Thursday to 22 to 24 years in prison for a series of robberies last year.
According to the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office, Phillip Wade entered a home on Jan. 20, 2023 and robbed the residents at gunpoint, he then locked them in a basement room before leaving. The next day, he committed four armed robberies of gas stations.
A Columbus Division of Police officer in plain clothes witnessed the fourth robbery and arrested Wade.
Wade pleaded guilty on Jan. 20, 2024 to two counts of robbery, three counts of aggravated robbery, one count of kidnapping, one count of aggravated burglary and one count of failure to comply with an order or signal of an officer.
