COLUMBUS, Ohio — Gahanna City Hall is back open and operating normally after police had to investigate a bomb threat made to the building Tuesday.

The building was evacuated shortly after noon after receiving the threat.

A spokesperson with the city said the Gahanna Division of Police investigated the threat and determined that it was safe to return to the building.

As a precaution, Gahanna Lincoln High School issued a stay-in-place order due to how close the school is to city hall.

As a result, the district did not allow students to leave the building in order to avoid them being in the area as some walk through the city hall parking lot for lunch.

The district says the school administration is adjusting the schedule for the remainder of the day to allow all students an opportunity to each lunch.
