Friends of the Columbus Metropolitan Library to host book sale March 15-17

The sale is being held at the Main Library’s Larry D. Black Auditorium and Meeting Room 1A at 96 South Grant Ave.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Looking to grow your book collection? Friends of the Columbus Metropolitan Library is hosting its semi-annual book sale next weekend.

During the Big Book Sale on March 15-17, readers will find books for as low as $1. Items being sold are considered “no longer suitable” for the library’s collection.

The sale is being held at the Main Library’s Larry D. Black Auditorium and Meeting Room 1A at 96 South Grant Ave.

A general sale will be held March 15-16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., where guests can pick up children’s books starting at $1 and adult fiction and nonfiction books, CDs, DVDs and audiobooks starting at $2.

A bag sale will then take place on the last day, March 17, from 1-4 p.m. Guests can bring a sturdy bag and fill it for $5.

All proceeds will go to support the library’s programs and services. Friends of the Library members get early access to the sale and receive 10% off their purchases.

Transactions will be limited to $400 per household.

The library will also hold its second Summer Big Book Sale during the Columbus Book Festival on July 12-14. During the free two-day festival, the library plans to bring in more than 200 national and Columbus-based authors for panel discussions, author talks, book signings and more.

An author lineup will be announced in late April.

In addition to the summer sale, the library will also hold a Fall Big Book Sale from Oct. 24-27.
