Man, woman identified in deadly Madison Township house fire

Firefighters discovered fire in the basement, but it's unclear if that is where the fire started, according to Chief Robinson.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A man and a woman are dead after a house fire Saturday morning in Madison Township, according to Fire Chief Derek Robinson. 

Fire crews responded to the 5000 block of Fullerton Drive just before 7:45 a.m. The two adults were pronounced dead at the scene. 

On Monday, the fire department identified the victims as 64-year-old Charles Williams and 59-year-old Tammie Williams.

No other injuries were reported and the chief said no pets were in the home.

Madison Township Police Chief Gary York said it is looking like this will be a fire investigation, not a criminal investigation.

The Columbus Division of Fire assisted Madison Township Fire Department on scene.
