Bicyclist dies after being struck by vehicle in Franklin County

The sheriff’s office said the suspect vehicle was described as a possible white Chevy Suburban with slight front-end damage.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — A bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle in Mifflin Township early Monday morning, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said around 12:45 a.m., a bicyclist was crossing state Route 3 when they were struck by a vehicle that was heading southbound on the road.

The vehicle did not stop and left the area heading south from Innis Road.

The bicyclist was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital by medics. They were pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:20 a.m. The Franklin County Coroner's Office identified the bicyclist as 46-year-old Noe Chavez.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect vehicle was described as a possible white Chevy Suburban with slight front-end damage.
