FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — The Franklin County Sheriff's Office completed its third crime blitz operation of the year on Tuesday.
"Operation Unity" was designed to combat illegal activities such as thefts and drug-related crimes. The operation also aims to address the rise in stolen vehicles, shots fired calls and felonious assaults.
The operation took place over a 12-hour period and spanned the areas of South High Street from Williams Road to the north, and going south into Pickaway County with the Village of South Bloomfield being the furthest south of the operation.
Deputies made 17 felony arrests and seized cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine. Below are the results of Tuesday's operation.

• 16 misdemeanor arrests
• 2 grams of cocaine seized
• 2 grams of fentanyl seized
• 7.1 grams of methamphetamine seized
• 32 Citizens contacted directly for crime prevention
The sheriff's office's first operation this year took place at the end of May in Prairie and Franklin townships. The second happened in June in the northeastern part of Franklin County.
The Columbus Division of Police has conducted two of its own crime blitzes so far this year, focusing on the southern, eastern and northeastern parts of the city.
