Former Powell business owner pleads guilty to sexually abusing young employees

Danny Kitsos admitted to engaging in sexual conduct with three girls.

The former owner of Rita’s Italian Ice in Powell pleaded guilty to three charges against him for having illegal sexual contact with employees.

Danny Kitsos told a Delaware County judge that he engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with a girl he said was 15, while he was 52-years-old.

Kitsos also admitted in court Wednesday to two counts of sexual battery. Each charge represents additional victims.

Kitsos said before his contact with those two employees, he had reason to know they had consumed alcohol.

He explained he had alcohol at the business in downtown Powell.
As part of the plea deal to the three sex-related charges, seven charges against Kitsos were dropped.

The shop now has new ownership.

Kitsos remains in jail. The judge told him he will be sentenced September 28.

Until then, he can only be freed from jail if Kitsos posts the $60,000 bond. That is a lesser amount than the $120,000 bond the judge had previously set.
