Victim killed in northeast Columbus shooting identified

An arrest warrant has been filed for 26-year-old Devon Ford who is charged with murder.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police have identified the victim killed in Saturday's shooting in northeast Columbus as a 40-year-old man.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called to the intersection of Walford Street and Fitzroy Drive, just south of Morse Road, around 8:20 a.m. on a report of a shooting.  When officers arrived, they found two people suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Police said Abdulrahman Mohamed was pronounced dead at 8:27 a.m. Another person was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and was later upgraded to stable, police said.

Police have filed an arrest warrant for 26-year-old Devon Ford. He is charged with the murder of Mohamed.

Franklin County Municipal Court records state that Ford and Mohamed got into an argument due to Mohamed calling Ford's younger brother names.

Records say that the shooting was captured on camera and seen by several witnesses.
