According to the Whitehall Division of police, a firefighter was struck by a vehicle while attempting to connect a water hose at a garage fire scene Wednesday morning.
Firefighters were called around 6:30 a.m. to the 200 block of Robinwood Avenue for a report of smoke in the area.
Whitehall Fire Chief on the scene said the fire was contained to the garage and several cars were damaged.
A Whitehall firefighter at the fire hydrant connecting a water hose was struck by a vehicle that left the scene, according to police.
The vehicle was described as an older, small 4 door vehicle, dark in color. There is damage to the hood of the vehicle on the passenger side. The front license plate was displayed in the front windshield.
Police said the firefighter was taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The fire remains under investigation.
