Fire investigators arrest mobile homeowner in west Columbus

Columbus Fire Investigators arrested a woman after her mobile home caught fire Sunday.

COLUMBUS - Columbus Fire Investigators arrested a woman after her mobile home caught fire Sunday.

Fire officials say the fire happened around 5:30 a.m. in the 3500 block of Edson Drive in west Columbus. The mobile home was fully engulfed when they arrived.

Neighbors told firefighters an elderly woman lived in the home. They searched the home but could not find her.

There were no other reported injuries.

Police found the woman, Edna Underwood, 71, Monday afternoon.

Underwood was charged with aggravated arson and sent to jail after confessing to starting the fire, according to police.
