PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — A 52-year-old Chillicothe man died after he was hit by a car in Pickaway County Sunday morning.

Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew Hafey said around 5:15 a.m., a woman was driving a 1998 Chevrolet truck hauling a trailer northbound on U.S. Route 23 near Island Road Crossing. The truck slowed down to turn left and as it was turning in the median, a 2022 Nissan rear-ended the trailer.

The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to OhioHealth Berger Hospital to be treated for injuries. A passenger inside the truck was taken to Mount Carmel Grove City for treatment.
