COLUMBUS, Ohio — It has been 18 years since Andy Chapman disappeared from the west side of Columbus.
He was last seen on Dec. 8, 2006. He left his personal belongings and his car behind. He disappeared after becoming addicted to opioids.
Now 18 years later, his mother Judy Rafferty and sister Aimee Chapman said there have been no leads.
“We won’t stop until we find some sort of resolution,” Rafferty said.
On Saturday, they organized the first-ever Andy Chapman March for the Missing through the Hilltop neighborhood where he was last seen.
For 18 years, Chapman’s family has been part of a club they never willingly joined.
They invited other families of missing people to join them in their mission for answers.
Danny Fout’s family has been part of the so-called club of families of missing loved ones since he too disappeared from the west side of Columbus in 2019.
“My dad went missing five years and four months ago. Kind of just vanished without a trace, no cell phone with him, no car, not really a stable place of residence. We are here today to get information out to the public so we can find some trace of our dad,” said his daughter, Kaitlyn Fout.
His family is holding out hope that someone could recognize his signature tattoos or friendly personality.
“Our dad has missed the birth of his two new grandbabies. He loves his families, he loves being around babies and children. He missed me graduating nursing school, my sister is graduating high school,” his daughter said.
On Saturday, the Sigman family joined these families on this mission for the first time.
They have been on an agonizing search for nearly a month after 77-year-old John Sigman drove away from his Lore City home in Guernsey County and never came back. He was last seen on May 11. His Ford F150 is missing as well.
“We have had a lot of good people help us with drones, walking fields, walking back roads, all of our family have done the same walk, driven, looked for maybe possible accidents maybe ran off the road, maybe he broke down. We have tried a lot of things,” said his son, Michael Sigman.
Anyone with information on Sigman’s whereabouts should contact the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office.

There are more than 1,200 missing people in Ohio, including about 900 children, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
